Cyberpunk 2077 returns to the PlayStation Store

CD Projekt Red has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 has finally returned to the PlayStation Store after a newly launched patch.

In the announcement tweet, the studio confirmed that the game is playable on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and that a free next-gen upgrade is still coming towards the second half of 2021. However, they also warned players that they “may continue to experience some performance issues with the PS4 edition while we continue to improve stability across all platforms.”

Both the Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter page and PlayStation's Twitter account have encouraged players to play on either a PlayStation 4 Pro or PlayStation 5 console to get the best possible experience.

I personally played the game at launch on the Xbox Series X and I did have an okay time with the game but I also ran into a ton of bugs throughout. I can comment on the state of the game today but some of the standout issues I had with the game was missing out on important story points due to a cut scene bug. Overall I still went to get the full 100% of the achievements but I can't see myself returning until a substantial DLC is launched.

Deep Silver Announce A TimeSplitters Game In Development At Free Radical Design

Deep Silver has announced that TimeSplitters is returning and is being developed by a newly reformed Free Radical Design, the studio responsible for the original game. In Addition to this, two of the original founders will be working on the new project.

In the announcement, Deep Silver said "You asked and we listened. We have been working on plans to bring the TimeSplitters franchise back to life, and are pleased to let you know that we are setting up a new Deep Silver development studio to do just that. Free Radical Design is reforming and will be headed up by industry and TimeSplitters veterans, Steve Ellis and David Doak."

The game does seem to be in its early stage of development, with the statement continuing by saying "This is an exciting first step in the process; development on a new game has not yet started and we will update you when we have more news to share."

I remember playing this game on split-screen with some friends and I have fond memories of it, however, I don't see how the gameplay of the previous game stacks up in the modern day. Unless it's an Overwatch-style shooter and then I'm all in.

Dying Light 2 News Coming Soon

Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 might finally be on the horizon after developer Techland has released a statement responding to the departure of one of its longest-serving employees.

Narration Designer Pawel Selinger recently revealed on his LinkedIn page that he had left the company after 22 years at the studio. The news was reported by several outlets with a large portion of them putting him as the lead writer of the game after a recent departure of their prior writer.

Techland responded over the weekend with a statement to PC Gamer, which confirmed the departure of Pawel Selinger but also clarifying his former role: "Paweł Selinger, who has been the Narration Designer for the last two years, decided at the end of 2020 to end his cooperation with Techland and to pursue his further career elsewhere."

The statement continued on: "Paweł spent most of his professional life at Techland and he, among others, takes credit for the success of the series Call of Juarez. He left a large piece of himself with Dying Light 2, as he worked on the project from the very beginning. His duties, ie. the narrative department, were taken over by Piotr Szymanek in October 2020."

the statement also added that there could be some light on the horizon for those wanting news on the game by saying: "We will be sharing exciting news about Dying Light 2 soon!"

Nintendo Buying Developer Next Level Games

Luigis-Mansion-3-review-1.jpg

Nintendo has confirmed today that it will be acquiring Canadian developer Next Level Games, the studio behind Luigi's Mansion 3.

Nintendo is hoping the deal will be sealed by March 1, 2021, pending shareholder approval. Nintendo stated that the deal would "secure the availability of Next Level Games development resources for Nintendo, including development expertise, as well as facilitate an anticipated improvement in development speed and quality by enabling closer communication and exchange of staff with the Nintendo development team."

I'm pretty excited to see what Nintendo has up its sleeves for the developer and hopefully, this means that more Luigi-based adventures in a mansion are on it's way.

Xbox Games With Gold For January 2021

XBOX GAMES WITH GOLD JAN 2021

Microsoft has announced the next batch of games coming to games with gold for January 2021 and they're okay, not great though.

the following games are available to grab now if you're a member of Xbox Live:

Little Nightmares (A weird but cool indie game): Available January 1 to 31

Dead Rising (Go Play Dead Rising 4, it's great and super festive): Available January 16 to February 15

The King of Fighters XIII (I'm probably terrible at it): Available January 1 to 15

Breakdown (Had enough of those in 2020): Available January 16 to 31

Games With Gold has been super lackluster since Xbox Game Pass was revealed, Go Get Game Pass Ultimate and treat these additional games as a bonus. Also While we're here, go play Yakuza Zero on the game pass, it's probably the best game on there.
